Title: Project Manager (TMS)
Term: Temporary (approx.. 3 years)
Salary: $110k-$150k/year - Depending on experience
Employment type: W2- or 1099 (1099- contractor preferred)
The TMS Project Lead is responsible for the successful delivery of TMS implementation projects. This role involves managing cross-functional teams—including Technical Business Analysts, Middleware, and Customer Success—to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. The Project Lead will also champion the adoption of product-driven methodologies and standardized best practices to help customers maximize the value of their Truckmate TMS deployment.
Project Planning & Execution
•Lead end-to-end project management of Truckmate TMS implementations, from initiation to delivery.
•Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
•Ensure timely completion of project milestones and deliverables while exceeding customer expectations.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
•Coordinate cross-functional project teams, including Technical Business Analysts, Third-party vendors, and consultants.
•Partner closely with Technical Business Analysts to design, implement, test, and deploy TMS solutions.
•Manage onboarding and the integration of third-party systems (e.g., WMS, analytics, customs solutions).
Customer Engagement
•Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
•Facilitate project kickoff meetings, requirements gathering sessions, and post-implementation reviews.
•Conduct regular status meetings to communicate progress, risks, and updates to both internal stakeholders and customers.
Quality Assurance & Best Practices
•Ensure all projects align with Truckmate TMS quality standards and use product-driven methodologies.
•Oversee testing and validation efforts to ensure customer requirements are met.
•Promote the adoption of standardized tools and processes to improve efficiency and consistency.
Risk Management & Issue Resolution
•Identify and manage project risks proactively, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
•Resolve issues and remove obstacles to maintain team alignment and progress.
•Escalate critical issues to senior leadership with actionable recommendations.
Reporting & Documentation
•Prepare and present regular status reports for senior management.
•Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including meeting notes, risk logs, and final reports.
•Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to TMS implementation workflows, system configurations, user onboarding, and operational processes.
•Contribute to ongoing improvement of project management practices, tools, and templates.

Education
•Bachelor’s degree in project management, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field preferred
•PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
Experience
•7+ years of project management experience, ideally within SaaS or TMS environments
•Demonstrated success managing complex software implementation projects.
•Familiarity with product-driven development and software integration best practices
Skills & Competencies
•Deep understanding of TMS platforms and their industry applications
•Experience with API integrations and systems such as WMS, ERP, and customs solutions
•Strong leadership and team coordination capabilities
•Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
•Strategic problem-solving abilities in fast-paced environments
